A LOT MORE CRICKET TALK AND SOME CRICKET

By Brian Sanderson,

As I arrived at Harrogate the rain started to fall and the forecast was it would rain till 1.00PM.

Tony Hutton had arrived back from his ten day tour de Britain which he will put on the blog in the near future. We were joined by Paul Dyson ,who is Yorkshire Cricket Archive Committee and Howard Clayton, Yorkshire scorer. Early lunch was taken at 12.30 so went out for my sandwiches . On the way to the car I met David Thorpe from Golcar who had been on a trip to Scotland to see qualification matches for the Cricket World Cup.

After my lunch it was still raining and JohnWinn arrived to  try and see some cricket but it was still raining. Going back to the pavilion Adrain Grayson had arrived to add some more cricketing tales. The rain stopped and at 3.10 the cricket started with Yorkshire batting in the second innings. Tea would be at 5.10.

Warwick bowlers were soon on top of the Yorkshire batsmen. There was a opening stand of 47 before Hodd was out and soon followed by Maxwell and Callis. The score was 59 for 3 but Yorkshire had a lead of 150 from the fist innings. No batsman look in  and so  by tea time Yorkshire were 106 for 5.

At this stage I left the match but on total cricket scorer  Yorkshire were 190 for 9 dec so leaving Warwick 340 in a day to win the match. Forecast tomorrow is sunshine but we will see.
