TWO THREE GENERATION CRICKETERS AT STAMFORD BRIDGE

By Brian Sanderson,

On my seventeenth consequent day of cricket I went to Stamford Bridge to see Yorkshire Seconds against Worcestershire in a fifty over match. The ground always attracts good crowds and the car park was full by noon.We were joined by Peter France after Broad Oaks Second cup victory yesterday.

It was not to warm so we sat to the side of the sightscreen next to Tony Hutton and Jenny. After some people had bacon butty we settled down to watch Yorkshire bat. We were soon watching Will Rhodes show why he has potential to become a very good county player. He started slowly but soon was scoring a number of boundaries. He scored 124 with 12 fours and 3 sixes  been the fifth out.Yorkshire scored a total of 332 for  6.
This is a photograph after he had scored his century with Ryan Gibson who scored 66 and had a stand of 112 in 13 overs. In the Worcestershire side was Brett D,Oliveira who was the grandson of Basil also George Rhodes who was the grandson of W.E Rhodes of Nottingham. Worcestershire were 72 for 2 in the 18th over when D,Olivera and Whitley put on a stand of 122.Whitley scoring his century in 86 balls with 12 fours and 3 six,s.

After D,Olivera was out they collapsed from 240 for 4 to 289 all out so losing by 43 runs. The best Yorkshire bowler was Fisher taking 3 for 27 in his nine overs. To-morrow York.
