SUNNY MASHAM

By Brian Sanderson,

I always look forward to going to the beautiful ground of Masham. The match was the Seevent National Over 60 Championship 2014 (Northern Group) match between Yorkshire and Lancashire. The sun was shinning when Yorkshire started to bat. Again there are no team sheets however I did recognise two players. The first being Tommy Stafford  ,wicket keeper extraordinaire and Phil Taylor ex Pudsey Congs captain.

The opening pair put on a opening stand of over 80 at four an over. However the Lancashire bowling started to slow the scoring rate. Adrain Grayson was watching the match and the last time I saw him was at Wombwell when he talked about his two sons who are coaching Essex and Blackpool.Yorkshire opening batsman got out just before he scored a hundred.
Over 60,s cricket is very gentle cricket but still they want to win.It is a forty-five over match with Yorkshire  reached 215 with a batsman scoring 62 not out. I had to go at half time but it was nice to watch the match in beautiful settings.
