TWENTIETH DAY

By Brian Sanderson,

Today the forecast was rain by the afternoon.Arriving early it was good to listen to Malone ,one of the umpires ,on his view of cricket.Yorkshire were two wickets down  this morning after yesterday. We were join by  some people from Huddersfield including Peter France just recovering after Broad Oaks lost in the 20/20.

Hodgson was soon out caught by Clarke off Yorkshire born Whiles. There is a comment on The White Rose Forum that one person found it boring yesterday so I dread to think  what he thought of today. Yorkshire batted nearly seven hours to score 298 at a rate of just under 3 runs an over.

No batsman looked in during the Yorshire innings Jack Leaning brought his over night score up to 72 before been caught by a good catch  by Rhodes of Harrison. The only other batsman to score a half  century was Ryan Gibson who scored 54.

The best bowler was Whitely who took 3 wickets for 30.Harrison also took 3 wickets but bowled  seven wides.D,Oliveira bowled just before the new ball to give Yorkshire 27 runs of five overs,. All gifts thankfully received.
While Yorkshire were batting I was able to get a photograph of Will Rhodes and Jonathan Tattersall both in the England under 19 squad together with Graham from Huddersfield.

Worcestershire opened with Pardoe and Rhodes who batted eight in the first innings.Hodd took over the wicket keeping from Hodgson for Yorkshire.after 14 overs Worcester score was 37 for 0 before the rain came down.Cue for a song.

As the title of the blog today this was my twentieth consequent day of cricket and the weather looks good so hopefully keep the sequance going.
