CATCHES WIN MATCHES

By Brian Sanderson,

Cloudy start to the second day of the Yorkshire against  Hampshire  match. Yorkshire were looking to get to 350 to achieve another bonus point which was achieved for the loss of Bresnan wicket.Leaning was looking to get to his second hundred but was out for 82  to Tomlinson who was the best bowler taking four wickets in the innings.Yorkshire finished on 370 which looks a good score.

Before lunch Worcester reached 21 for 1 with the help of two dropped catches. Also there was attempted run out which finished in failure.

After lunch on a sunny afternoon in front a reasonable crowd . Dawson was caught off Rhodes who had taken the place of Plunkett after he had been dropped. Brooks then took two wickets in two balls  leaving Ervine to faced the hat-trick ball with no problem .

Ervine and Carberry put on a stand of 86 for the fifth wicket looking in no problem. Then Carberry swept Rashid to Pujara in the deep taking a excellent catch by his ankles for 97 with a century in sight. Then Ervine picked out Pattinson at fine leg off Brooks.

At the end Rashid took two wickets of Berg and Adams to leave  Hampshire on 223 for 8 still 147 in arrears.

The photograph  above is of the two sides flag with The Championship flag missing as the rope was not strong enough to hold it. Another job to do at Yorkshire together with the players platform.
