SECONDS AT YORK

By Brian Sanderson,

With the First team match finishing a day early ,this allowed us to go to York to see the third day of Seconds against Northants Second. During the previous two days Northants had scored 127 with Ben Coad taking five wickets. During the second day Yorkshire scored 404 for five with Gibson and Hussain scoring centuries. So Northants had to bat for  the day  to save the match. This was never going to happen after their first innings.

One of Yorkshire opening bowlers was Ryan Sidebottom who was just coming back from injury. The weather was sunny and it made a pleasant site to see trees around a cricket field rather than concrete.

Wickets fell standlingly during the day with Carl Carver, above taking  wickets with his left arm spin.By the time we had to leave just before three o,clock Northants had lost nine wickets  and the prospect of another Yorkshire win.

A great four days of cricket and sunny weather for a change and next Barnsley tomorrow.
