Knock out for the big boys

posted by John Winn

In yesterday's posting I made reference to the progress of the Village Cup and some interesting matches coming up this weekend. The national ko for larger clubs is also well underway with some giants having fallen by the wayside. Despite rain in some areas on Sunday May 31st most ties scheduled for that day were completed and apart from two games this week the next action takes place on Sunday week when there are 14 ties scheduled. These  will decide the group winners and are as follows

Group 1 South North v Chester Le Street
           2 Chesterfield v Sheffield Collegiate
3 Kimberley Institute v Caythorpe (Notts)
           5 Hyde v Bowdon *
6 Northern v Chester Boughton Hall
7 Ockbrook and Borrowash v Walsall
           8 Kidderminster Vic v Ombersley
           9 South Wilts v Havant
          10 Bath v Bridgewater
          11 Roffey (Sussex) v Guildford
          12 Spencer (Surrey) v Sunbury
          13 Kibworth (below) v Swardeston
          14Southgate v Brentwood
          15 Radlett v Ealing

In Group 4 the finalists are Chorley and Leyland who play this Sunday and in Group 16 Hartley Country Club host Bromley, again this week.

All matches have 1:00 starts

* The ecb website is not up to date for this group but the Hyde website shows details of this tie.
