My first visit for some years to Old Trafford on Monday was quite a revelation with lots of new buildings and facilities to explore. Among them was the walkway beneath the new players pavilion and media centre at what is now the Statham end, opposite the old pavilion.
For spectators making the circular walk of the ground, fortunately still possible, an unusual feature on the walls of this walkway is a collection of humorous quotations by famous cricket personalities. They took my fancy so much that I took pictures of most of them. Here are just a few.
