WARWICKSHIRE LADIES WIN BOTH MATCHES

By Brian Sanderson,

It was a afternoon out at Harrogate to see Yorkshire, Warwickshire and Berkshire ladies play three 20/20 matches. The weather was warmer than yesterday but there was a strong westerly wind blowing. As we arrived Warwick were just beating Yorkshire as soon above.

About thirty minutes later Warwickshire were playing Berkshire. We watched the match from the balcony to get away from the wind..There is one difficulty, the rail bar is at eye height which makes in hard to watch the match. Berkshire started well and were 52 for 2 after 9 overs but only finished on 80..During the innings I walked round the ground to speak to David Thorpe , our Golcar and Yorkshire Womens representative.

Warwickshire started slowly against some steady bowling. It came that Warwick wanted eleven off two overs. They were good enough to win it in the nineteenth over. There was a forty-five minute break between Yorkshire and Berkshire match which was too much for the wife take so we went home missing the Yorkshire match.

Moving on to Todmorden for three days to see Lancashire seconds and Yorkshire.Hope the weather is kind to us.
