RETURN TO GLOSSOP

By Brian Sanderson,

After talking to David Thorpe and looking at the weather forecast,I decided to return to Glossop. The match was three 20/20 between Yorkshire Women U17,Derbyshire and Durham. After a beautiful drive to the ground the sun was out but a bit windy. However a lot warmer than yesterday at Headingley.

The first match was Derbyshire against Yorkshire with the home county batting first. After talking to the Yorkshire coach ,he thought 120 would be a good score. We moved to the right hand side of the match with the above view. Derbyshire reached 89 in the twenty overs. Yorkshire made hard work of winning the match by one wicket. The winning run was a wide.

After lunch and a piece of carrot cake Yorkshire played Durham. Yorkshire made a good start but lost two wickets in two balls.

With the help of six dropped catches Yorkshire reached 157 with one girl scored 74.Even though the Yorkshire bowling was nothing outstanding they won the match by 50 runs.Great weather and great views and good company. What more could you ask for ..
