POLITICAL DAY AT HEADINGLEY

By Brian Sanderson,

As I arrived with my sister ,we were met by the sight of Nigel Farage talking to Yorkshire cricket members about some of the greats; Hutton, Verity and Rhodes. See his twitter account.

Back to the serious business the racing pigeon  had arrived home yesterday after been caught at Headingley last night. On the lunch menu there was pigeon pie .It was later deleted. While this was going on Yorkshire claimed another four wickets in the morning session.

Karl Brown and Liam Livingstone put on a partnership of 63 in side 22 overs before Liam was caught on the boundary edge.

Karl Brown fought hard  and was the side top scorer with 51. Lancashire were bowled out for 173 inside 87 overs.Yorkshire secured only their second Roses home Championship win in the last 25 seasons  and move level on 88 points with Lancashire at the top of Division One.
