ANOTHER SUNNY DAY AND A CHANCE TO SEE JOE ROOT

By Brian Sanderson,

I set off to walk to the stadium of Headingley to see the four day match between Yorkshire and Surrey.Arriving at the ground to find a large queue and turnstiles locked. It seem there had been a electric
failure and the gates would not open. After about fifteen minutes somebody decided to let the queue in.
There is always some problems at Headingley.

During the morning I had a chance to talk to John Hampshire, this years Yorkshire President.Surrey won the toss and decided to bat.

Yorkshire bowlers bowled very tight in the first half hour.During the morning dropped three catches and the umpire turned down a caught behind.

Just after lunch  Sangakkara reached his fifty and looked in no problem. So it was a surprise for him to lose his wicket when he tried to lift a short ball over the slips on 73. Next out was Jason Roy caught by Root but Roy thought it did not carry and decided to show his angry to the good crowd.Been while Steve Davies was batting well.

After tea Steve Davies was out for 117 and he helped Surrey to 264 for 4.it was then left to Thomas Curran with 32 to bring Surrey total to 330 all out. Lyth and Lees had to bat four over at the end of the day and was still there at the end of the day.

See what tomorrow brings and again the forecast is sunny.Enjoy it while it lasts.
