LITERARY DAY AT HEADINGLEY

By Brian Sanderson,

I set off to Headingley in hope that the rain could  keep off and leave a full day.During the pre morning session Geoffrey Boycott walked into the Long Room with his wife.Geoffrey has had  numerous books been issued about his career and after.

When the cricket started Yorkshire lost four wickets for 45 runs in 11 overs with Siddle and Adams been the best bowlers. At lunch the score was 183 for 6  with the sun still shineing. At lunchtime Dickie Bird was signing new  his paper backed  book "80 not out "

After lunch Bresnan was soon out and then the last hope Finch was somehow bowled by Patel.Yorkshire looked like they would reach a second bonus point but Pyrah was caught on the boundary and Pattinson was lbw three balls later. This left Yorkhire all out for 247. During the break in innings Stephen Chalke came into the Long Room after his talk to other of criceters in this last two days for his new book on The Championship which will be 150 years old next year.

When Nottingham started batting you could see that Hales was in poor form and Bresnan got him L.B.W shouldering arms.Jaques was next to go  caught behind of Patterson with the dark clouds gathering. At about 5.00 P.M the rain came with Nottingham 59 for 2 with a lead of 17. Forecast for tomorrow is dry so we will see how Yorkshire do in the morning.

Just to say the blog has reached 64000 hits since it first started . Thank you for all our readers.
