ANOTHER LONG WEDNESDAY

By Brian Sanderson,

Set out from home at 10 o,clock to go to Pudsey Congs ground were Leeds Met A were playing Lancaster University. It was suppose to start at 10.45 put because Lancaster were late it start at 11.00.Ralph Middlebrook was about as normal and is always interesting to talk to about cricket.Next person arrive was Brian Cobb with Harry this time.

Lancaster batted first and soon lost a wicket to a excellent slip catch.Again no scoresheets so we do not know the players.Leeds overrate was poor and Ralph was worried about when the match would finish as there was another match stating at 6.30.
We left at 1.00 for lunch when about 30 overs had been bowled and 3 wickets had fallen.

Coming back we find that Lancaster scored 196 in the fifty overs.Feeling were that the score was not good enough but we did not know the strenght of the Leeds batting.
Leeds lost the first wicket on the second ball. However Rupert Scott-James from Derbyshire scored a excellent hundred to win the match in the twenty seventh over. Poor bowling but excellent hitting. Match was over at 3.30 . Ralph was happy about the early finish.

Because it of the early finish I called into Weetwood were Leeds University A were playing Teeside University . Leeds had scored over 250 in the fifty overs and Teeside were struggling.Teeside opening batter scored 75 out about 120 with side eight wickets down.Leeds should win that easily.

Moving on to the Harrogate Cricket Evening League with Ron Deaton. We went to Staveley who were playing Sharow. A very rural ground with a large slope down to the changing rooms. It was my first visit to the ground and took a few pictures.
Moving on to Boroughbridge another new ground we found no cricket on but a pitch marked.

Plan B went to Knaresborough Forest ground to find that Ripley won the mach in the tenth over. It was still 8.00 so went to Goldsborough against Harrogate. We found out the Harrogate had onlynine men and 177 runs had been scored against them.Goldsborough won the match easily but it was poor for Harrogate to have only nine men.

Arrived home at 9.40 and time to do the blog.
