Cold Roses Day

Posted by Brian Sanderson,

Set off down the M1 with Ron to Barnsley were Yorkshire under 17 were playing Lancashire under17.Yorkshire had beaten Durham at Hartlepool in there last match. There was a col wind blowing and it was cloudy. All the professional cricket watchers were there. The ST. Peters match had been called off as Northumberland got the wrong date.

Yorkshire batted on a poor pitch which bounced and spun.Yorkshire could not cope with the bowling and conditions. It was to cold to sit out and had to watch the match from the car. Not pleasant. They managed just over one hundred by two thirty.

Lancashire soon lost a wicket but managed to stay that way till tea.Left the ground then with it threatening to rain.

Not the best day of cricket this summer.
